Promote a unique event by stimulating participation
Created in 2000, World Cancer Day has grown into a positive movement for everyone, everywhere to unite under one voice to face one of our greatest challenges in history.
Each year, hundreds of activities and events take place around the world, gathering communities, organisations and individuals in schools, businesses, hospitals, marketplaces, parks, community halls, places of worship - in the streets and online - acting as a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in reducing the global impact of cancer.
The year 2020 marked an important milestone as World Cancer Day celebrated its 20th anniversary!
The aim of the site was to unite the community around this day, before but also after the event.

The objectives of this site are articulated around the following challenges:
- Reach effectively the various audiences, very varied (organisations, individuals, survivors, caregivers, accompanying persons, etc.)
- Communicate with the public, bond and interact with the participants

- Provide everyone with complete and relevant campaign material, to download and customise
- Integrate the campaign with social networks to maximise its reach

Highlighting the campaign
A page dedicated to the presentation of the campaign ‘I Am and I Will’, planned over 3 years, with videos to explain the concept and create a lasting impact.
Many resources are available to enable everyone to learn about the event, but also to discover all the knowledge on the Cancer subject. A page has been created to highlight this content so each visitor can easily find the resource that will be useful to him. Each document has been classified in a category (toolkits, posters, factsheets, guides, infographics, social media, logos, etc.).
An original page to stimulate engagement
The primary objective of World Cancer Day is to involve as many people in the world as possible to have the maximum impact. But for a visitor, it is sometimes difficult to imagine how to get involved and associate with the event. The 'Take action' page presents many examples of actions in a very concrete way and according to the time that each one can grant.
A map of activities
At each edition of the event, around 1000 activities are organised around the world, in more than 100 countries. Creating a map of all the events allows everyone to create their own activity, but also to be able to find other interested people locally.

We focused on social components with the following features:

- features to promote engagement, including a ready-to-send tweet component
- 'Stories' page which allows everyone to share their story
A customisable viral campaign
We have developed a simple and fun interactive tool, the objective of which is to transform your community into an ambassador. This solution, integrated into the website, enables each participant can take ownership of the campaign by customising a poster (texts and photos) and share it on social networks. The goal is to gain visibility, increase traffic to your site and establish brand authority.
